That's what Renewell Energy is building in Shafter, right in the middle of Kern County. They're converting idle oil and gas wells into gravity-based energy storage systems and doing it with the oilfield workers who already know exactly how.

TalentBase founder Kenny Spratt built the Veteran's CareerBridge Program around a simple truth: when a veteran transitions out of the military, the whole family transitions with them.

That's why the program supports spouses and dependents too, addressing housing and food stability up front, before connecting participants to certification training, college credit for military service, and employers who have already signed on to hire.

The Coalition is strengthening collaboration across sectors by expanding its reach and deepening engagement with partners. These partners include labor and workforce organizations, businesses and business-oriented groups, community support organizations and foundations, government agencies, Tribal partners, and other regional stakeholders who demonstrate that meaningful progress is possible when we work together.

Through this collaboration, the Kern Coalition is combining efforts to bring significant state investment, and additional private investment opportunities, into Kern County, helping build a diverse economy with high-quality jobs that are accessible to all. By investing in communities that have historically been overlooked, we can improve equity, health, social, and environmental outcomes for residents and help everyone realize their full potential.
